Exports — CSV, Excel, JSON, marked set, quote
TakeoffQuote exports five ways: CSV (the condition table, for your own pricing sheet), Excel (a multi-tab workbook with summary, per-sheet, and per-shape audit tabs), JSON (the full structured report, for anything programmatic), the Marked set PDF (your work burned onto the sheets, for whoever checks you), and the quote .xlsx (the priced bid). All are built in your browser.
From the Report
| Export | What it’s for |
|---|---|
| CSV | The condition table, exactly the columns you’re showing — drop it into the spreadsheet where your pricing already lives. |
| Excel | A real workbook, five tabs: Conditions, By sheet, Materials, Shapes, and By floor × room. Shapes is the audit trail — every individual measurement with its sign, so deducts show as deducts; By floor × room is the cross-section the others flatten — what goes down in that room on that floor. Full-precision cells; formula-shaped names stay inert text. |
| JSON | The full structured report — conditions, per-sheet quantities, scales, markups. The format for feeding a pricing system, an archive, or a script. |
| Shapes CSV / JSON | Per-shape measured quantities with no multiplier and no waste — the audit layer alone. |
| Marked set (PDF) | A distribution-ready PDF built in your browser: every sheet that carries takeoffs or markups, the work burned in as drawn — condition colors, hatches, quantity chips, count markers — behind a legend cover with totals and a by-sheet breakdown. Send it to a GC who will never install anything: your takeoff, checkable against the drawings, in a format everyone opens. |
| The report through your browser’s print dialog. |
The report’s footer says it plainly: Quantities derived from drawings at stated scales; verify in field.
From the Quote builder
The quote .xlsx is its own export — a two-tab workbook with a client-facing Quote page and a Basis page showing the math behind every line. It’s the one you attach to the bid email. Details: Quote builder.
The takeoff file itself
Export takeoff… writes 〈project〉.takeoff.json — the complete working document: every shape, condition, scale, and markup. It’s not a report; Import takeoff… reads it back as an editable takeoff on another machine or in another browser. Since all storage is local to one browser (Privacy & your data), this file is your backup and your hand-off format. The plan PDF is not inside it — open the same PDF first, then import.
